Bereavement Support Service at St Joseph's Hospice
St Joseph’s Hospice provides bereavement support and counselling for:
- bereaved family and friends, including children of people who have been cared for by St Joseph’s, whether in the Hospice or at home
- anyone aged 18 – 50 who live in the City of London or Hackney or are registered with a City of London or Hackney G.P, who have no connection with the Hospice but have experienced a bereavement or who are anticipating the death of a close friend or relative from an advanced, terminal illness, or are living with an advanced terminal illness
- any bereaved children and young people living in Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets who have no connection to the Hospice.
We see people on their own, with other family members or as part of a group according to need and preference. Counselling may involve the use of the arts, creativity and play.
Most of our services are provided at the Hospice. If this is difficult to arrange we can offer telephone counselling and in special circumstances meet people at their GP surgery, school and for patients, at home.
