Help at home

This section provides information on a wide range of services to help you maintain your independence at home. Services may be provided by Hackney Council, voluntary organisations or by private companies or agencies. Services can be free, require a contribution from yourself, or be paid for you.

Types of help available

  • home based support.
  • occupational therapy.
  • help at home (homecare)
  • meals services.
  • personal care such as help to use the toilet, getting washed and dressed and help to eat.
  • personal emergency alarm and telecare equipment.
  • grants to make your home more comfortable and user friendly.

The Council may be able to help you get the support you need, or you can arrange for help yourself.
